Since moving to Wasdale in the Lake District in 1996 I have been working on pieces inspired by mountain scenery and colours . Previously I had worked with fabrics to produce wall hangings and quilts, and fabric still plays a big role in my collage pieces - but my inspiration to paint was driven by my move from London.

Artistic DirectionExperimenting with diverse media is a key part of my enjoyment in my work. Subjects range from purely abstract to semi and fully representational. The common theme that characterises my pieces is use of vibrant colour to conjure mood and movement.

Recent Work

My recent paintings have explored two main themes, views across mountain tops and into valleys seeking to capture the movement of cloud and shadow over landscape and a more intimate series featuring hedgerow and field flowers.
